How to Find Safety in Adult Girlfriend Relationships

Hello and welcome to Permission.

ο»ΏToday, I want to share a deeply personal journey with you—how I transitioned from being the strong friend that nobody checked on to someone who embraces self-care and boundaries. This shift not only improved my well-being but also transformed my relationships. I hope my story resonates with you and encourages you to seek the support you deserve.

Taking Responsibility: Changing My Perspective

For a long time, I prided myself on being the strong friend, the one everyone could rely on. But over time, I realized this role came at a cost—I was often left feeling drained and unappreciated. The first step in my transformation was taking responsibility for my own well-being and recognizing that I wasn’t a victim of my circumstances. I stopped seeing myself and others as victims and acknowledged that everyone has the ability to take care of themselves.

Setting Boundaries: Recognizing My Needs

One of the most empowering changes I made was studying, placing, and reinforcing my boundaries based on my needs. I learned to say no without guilt and to prioritize my own well-being. These boundaries were crucial in maintaining my mental and emotional health. They also allowed me to respect others’ abilities to manage their own lives without feeling the need to step in constantly.

Taking Responsibility for My Life

By taking responsibility for what I wanted in life, I proved to myself that other people can do the same. I focused on my goals and aspirations, understanding that my happiness and success were in my hands. This shift in mindset was liberating and empowering. It also helped me see the potential in others to take control of their lives.

Investing in Professional Support

One of the most significant steps in my journey was investing in professional coaching and therapy services. Instead of burdening my friends with my problems, I sought help from experts who provided the guidance and support I needed. This not only lightened the emotional load on my friendships but also encouraged my friends to seek professional help for their own challenges.

Encouraging Professional Help

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of seeking professional help. Whether it’s coaching or therapy, professional support can make a world of difference in preserving your relationships and your mental health. As a coach, I’m here to offer the guidance and tools you need to navigate your challenges and build a fulfilling life. Even though I spent nearly 2 years earning my Master Coaching Certification with Jai Institute for Parenting, studying Generational Pattern/Communication/ Connection/ Mindset/ Emotion/Regulation/ Boundary and Radical Reflection Coaching techniques--- I still found myself trapped in bouts of emotional dysregulation resulting in indecision, self sabotage and low self esteem. πŸ’” Books, Youtube University and Generic Group learning of the science and the tools didn’t help me fully. It got so bad I was waking up at 3am with a racing heart, questioning if my young daughter would be better off without me and with intense shame that my life was not pristine and perfect. 😒 (Despite how it looked on social media.) All that to say, I know how painful it can be. And, I know what it’s like to be on the other side of it. To be able to say: 😊) I’m free of the mind numbing effects of a lifetime of gaslighting and emotional/verbal abuse. (No, never physically.) 😊) I’ve grounded my nervous system and enjoy full nights of rest. 😊) And, I have a life where I no longer feel victimized, frozen in indecision and afraid of abandonment and manipulation. The best part is I go to bed at night grateful for: πŸ™ How far I’ve come and how proud I know my Mom, now teenage Daughter, Younger sister, Aunties & Grandmothers are/would be of me for healing the legacy of the future Feminine Divine in our families. πŸ™My community: the coaches, mentors, friends, confidants, teachers and family that allowed me a safe space to receive and to give and grow, without judgment. πŸ™The opportunity to build a heart led business based on passion, purpose, permission, personal authority, and power after pain. So, even though there’s a part of me that thinks I’m sharing too much about my life’s work, my deeper truth is that I’m only able to be here authentically like this because I chose to commit and invest in myself via personal development and coaching. Notably, sharing my story isn’t at all about me seeking sympathy—it’s about how I can use that journey to serve others. 🎯 What I want more than anything is to help women who feel emotionally broken, stuck in functioning depression, and wondering if they’ll ever feel connected to themselves again realize that with Consistensitency, Compounded Effects and Community life can have a whole new meaning. I'm proof AND I'm here to help. Have you ever wondered if healing could truly change your life—or if you’d stay stuck, no matter how much you tried? If you (or any woman you know) struggles with a spiraling foggy and confused mindset, shattered nervous systems, and/or recovery from narcissistic abuse– I’d be honored to support you (or someone you care about). 🌻 Life is too short to live without freedom and personal authority.

I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but it’s time to come clean. 🚨 Even though I’ve spent years working on my mindset, healing my nervous system, and recovering from narcissistic abuse… πŸ’” I’ve been downplaying just how transformative my journey has been. πŸ’ͺ Healing feels so deeply personal that I’ve kept many parts of my story to myself. πŸ˜” But I’ve realized that holding back means I’m not making the impact I’m here to make. πŸ”₯ So today, I’m turning the page. πŸ”₯ There are so many women who feel emotionally broken, stuck in functioning depression, and wondering if they’ll ever feel connected to themselves again. I want to show you that healing is just the beginning—you have the power to grow and create a life beyond anything you imagined. 🌟 πŸ’‘ Soon, I’ll share how I found permission, personal authority, and power after pain. πŸ’‘ If you believe it’s time for me to stop holding back and start making a bigger impact, drop me a note. πŸ’¬ Your encouragement would mean the world to me.
